Hi all,
You may be aware of the popularity of Harris Tweed at the moment.
There are all sorts of items made from it nowadays!

Recently, an email appeared in my inbox, telling me about a new e-book
which has just been released.

Harris Tweed Appliqué For Beginners by Chris Hammacot

Harris Tweed Appliqué ebook with video

It's a beautiful book, filled with information, wonderful easy to follow
instructions, video clips, photographs & more.
You will, without a doubt be inspired to try out the technique, using this wonderful fabric.

Create hand or machine applique with 'Harris Tweed' - in easy steps! Chris Hammacott leads you through plump cushions, quirky tea cosies, a table runner and a wall-hanging, all given the rugged but cosy personality of 'Harris Tweed'. Designs are inspired by Chris's croft life on the Isle of Lewis; and her sheep, chickens, cats and pugs.

The Kindle cover has reverse applique sheep.

A scarecrow with tweed hat decorates a denim jacket

Three-dimensional flowers enhance a sweater.

Follow the guidelines and techniques, and watch the author demonstrating on the video clips. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced student, Chris will convince you of the wonderful qualities of 'Harris Tweed' for applique.

The book is available for download or as a CD Rom from
either Vivebooks here or Amazon here.

However, I have one copy of the book on CD Rom to giveway.

Anything Christmas BUT A Card

Good morning all!
(I apologise if you've seen this post before, I scheduled it a
week too early, much to my embarrassment! lol)
Christmas is fast approaching & I've been busy getting things ready for craft fairs
& helping out with bits & pieces for parties etc.

I was invited to be GDT for Crafting For All Seasons, this month,
where they are having a month long challenge this time!
I of course jumped at the chance to play along with my past DT friends!
So, I thought I'd share with you some of the bits & pieces
I've been making!

First up, this cute little man !

He's a Sock Snowman.
Filled with rice & made from a single sock, with
some buttons, ribbon & a little candy cane to embellish!
There are lots of tutorials on the internet for these, so you shouldn't be stuck for ideas!
He's been very popular, in fact, I spent last night making a whole little family of these!

Next up, Snowman Poop! lol

Again, there are lots of tutorials on the internet for this & the image I've used
is a little freebie from Whimsie Doodles here
Next, up, Grinch Pills!

A similar idea but just a little bit different.
I found the image here
For both of these projects, I made a little cutting file on my SIL Cameo.
I'm still getting to know it & haven't played as much as I'd like to but
I'm determined to use it a whole lot more!

Finally, a little Santa Sleigh

A great little alternative to a selection box with lots of chocolate treats!

Again, there are lots of tutorials on the internet.
You can find one on my blog here.
I've been making these for a few years now  & they have proved to be very popular!
I've learned that it's best to wrap the little chocolate bars as when the littlies get
hold of these & pull them apart, the contents go everywhere otherwise.
It also helps to keep them busy for a little longer, unwrapping things!
They also make great table decorations for place settings!

There are 3 fantastic sponsors for this challenge,
Fabulous Sponsor 2014
Fabulous Sponsor 2014
&
Fabulous Sponsor 2014
I hope you can play! I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs!
I've been so busy lately I've not had much time to hop!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here, even if you don't sew yourself,
it's a lovely e-book to look at & it would be a perfect present for anyone who sews,
You have until Saturday to add your name to the link up!

design papers from the kit as well as some black & white cardstock.
I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Happy Birthday Blossom

Good Morning All,
I'm here to share another little CAS card with you!

I used the lovely Crafts Too, Cherry Blossom embossing folder on the bae card.
The little daisies were punched from leftover scraps of Dottie card
from Anna Marie Designs, then shaped with an embossing tool.
I found myself singing "Daisy Daisy" while I was doing this! lol
I added a few little self adhesive gems to the centre of the flowers
& a Happy Birthday sentiment cut out using my Cameo!
Hope you like it!

I had intended posting this card on Saturday but whoopsy, it didn't happen!
This morning I'm sharing a bright & cheery Get Well Soon card!

I'm having so much fun with my washi tape at the moment! lol
I did plan to add a different flower to this one but it was nowhere to
be found & when I opened my button box, this little one was
right on top just begging to be used!
The leaves were part of a little blog candy I won, thanks CG!

I added a little Card Candi to the centre of the button,
to pull it all together!

Here's a little card I made using some Christmas Decoupage from
La Pashe

A fun image for a beer lover or in the case of the recipient
of this card, a Brewing Chemist!

Papermainia Capsule Collection, a couple of buttons from
my stash & a little bit of ribbon upcycled from a top.

Good morning all,
I'm back, did you miss me?
I have been sooo busy this past week my poor little blog
has been sitting abandoned & forlorn!
So, here's a little Thank You card I have to share with you today!

CAS, I added an embossed panel to the front of an A6 linen embossed
card stock base. The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug & I've
had it forever in my stash! The corners of the panel have been
rounded with a Woodware Punch
I used a sizzlit to diecut the entiment, a little bit of ribbon rescued from
a top & a couple of little colour co-ordinated buttons are
the only other embellishments.

Inside is a plain insert to write a message on.
This card design was popular at the little craft fair I was at
earlier this week.

Not A Card - Take 2

Hi all, I'm back with my second post today!
This is the DT Project I made using a
Delicious Doodles image, for the new NOT A Card challenge at

I used Teri's fantastic Bark At The Moon image to decorate a candle!
I didn't have a lot of time but I really wanted to do this!
I printed the image on to tissue paper, put on to the candle then
wrapped with greaseproof paper & heat set it!
Next I added some black Jaipur Lace from my stash et voila!

I packaged the candle in gusseted bag with a card backing using a couple of glue dots
to keep it in place & added a little ribbon & a matching gift tag.
I hope you like it,
Don't forget to play along at The Crafting Cafe!
I'd like to enter my candle in a few challenges:

Not A Card

Good Morning all!
It's Saturday! Yay!!!
Were you all bothered with Ghosts & Ghouls last night?
I locked my door & put out the lights & watched a movie!
Mwuhahaha!
Actully, I was ready but no one came to the door!
The kids on our street are all grown up now!

Anyhoo, being the 1st of the month, we have a brand new challenge over at
There are two brilliant sponsors this month!

Our theme this month is
NOT A Card
Here's my Artbymiran project!
A little wine bottle topper with a pocket on the front.
I did intend to put something in there but hey ho, or ho ho ho lol!

The image I have used is Christmas Elf, I love this little guy!

I coloured him up with a mix of promarkers & flexmarkers,
fussy cut him  & added him to the little wine bottle topper.
(I found the file in the Sihouette store)
I added a few little self adhesive gem stars too!

Closer look at the  little cutie!

View from the side to let you see the pocket!
The sentiment was printed out, then die cut & threaded with
two colors of ribbon which were knotted at each end.
I hope you like it!
I also hope you can play in the challenge & make something
other than a card for a change!

I must apologise for not having a Delicious Doodles project yet but life got in the way!
It will be blogged soon so watch this space!

Thanks for stopping by!
